Lois Elizabeth May

Santa Clara, UT- Lois Elizabeth May, age 80, was called home to her Heavenly Father on January 19, 2025. She passed away peacefully in her home in Santa Clara, Utah. Lois was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and friend, who touched the lives of so many that knew her. Born July 16, 1944, in Salt Lake City, Utah to Clifford Lee Woods and Selma LaVon Maxwell and raised by her mother Selma and stepfather Howard W. Taylor. She married and had 4 children with her first husband. They moved to St. George in 1983. They later divorced and during this time she worked diligently to pursue her career as a Registered Nurse. She graduated from Weber State University and Dixie College and started working for Dixie Regional Medical Center where she worked on the oncology floor for 27 years. She was loved by her colleagues and patients alike. She was so full of love and compassion. This was truly a divine calling. As she was finishing school, just before graduation, she met the love of her life, Lindsay Eugene May. They married on Nov. 03, 1990, after running off to Vegas. They were later sealed in the St. George LDS temple. They shared 34 years together filled with love, laughter, and many cherished memories. Lois was a proud, loving mother to her 4 children. Son, Marty (Annette) Andersen, Sheri (Scott) Andersen, James (Kristal) Andersen, and Larissa (Jon) Chapman. Her pride and joy came from her 8 grandchildren, Matt (Jerrika) Andersen, Tiffany Andersen, Ben Andersen, Bradly Andersen, Ethan Andersen, Gage (Ashley) Chapman, Hunter Chapman, Brayden Chapman and two great-grandchildren, Luke Chapman and Milo Andersen. Her family was the center of her universe, and she dedicated her life to their happiness and well-being. She always guided them with love, patience, understanding and endless sacrifice. Lois also found joy in fishing, camping, impromptu road trips, and vacations like trips to Disneyland with her children and grandchildren. She also enjoyed doing crafts and made a point of making special cards for birthdays and at Christmastime. She loved her family to no end and truly cherished every second she had with them. Her legacy of love, kindness, and dedication will live in the hearts of all those who were fortunate enough to know her. A visitation will be held at the LDS church located at 3040 Santa Clara Drive, Santa Clara, Utah on Saturday, February 01, 2025, from 10:00-10:45AM followed by a Celebration of Life at 11:00AM.
